Jan Freicher is a graduate of academies of music in Katowice, Poland, and in Nuremberg, Germany. He has studied with Bernard Maseli, Andrzej Zubek and Bill Molenhof

Well versed in jazz as well as clasical music, his compositions display ana appealing fusion of both idioms. He has written music for a wide variety of settings and instrumentations: chamber music, titles for big-band, orchestra compositions, titles for solo vibraphone and music for film and theater.

Founder and leader of two ensambles, Symphonic Fusion and Fourth Floor, he has won many international music competitions, including Grand Prix of the Open Contest for Jazz Personality 2007 on Jazz on the Odra River festival in Poland and 1st Place of the PAS Italy Composition Contest -2008.
